Do you place AGPCNP students in every state?
Yes. We source adult-gerontology primary-care preceptors and clinical sites in all 50 states, for students at any university. Each state page covers its practice-authority rules, its board of nursing, and the primary-care, geriatrics, and long-term-care settings that actually host AGPCNP rotations there.
Does my state's practice authority change what I need in a preceptor?
It changes the supervision arrangement more than the preceptor's qualifications. In full-practice states an experienced adult-gerontology primary-care NP can precept independently; in reduced and restricted states a collaborating or supervising physician is part of the arrangement. Either way your preceptor must be licensed in your state and practicing in adult or geriatric primary care.
Which hours are hardest to place, and does that vary by state?
Dedicated geriatrics and long-term-care preceptors are usually the scarce piece, since much adult care sits in general primary care. How scarce depends on local supply and where the aging population is concentrated. See our geriatrics rotation and long-term care rotation guides.
